Support Services
With a diverse community come diverse needs. The administration and staff at Rocky Mount Prep are committed to serving our scholars, and an important part of that is ensuring that the needs of their families are met. If your family is experiencing difficulty, please reach out and let us know. Here are a few ways we can help.
Food Assistance Program
RMP has a partnership with the Inter-faith Food Shuttle in Durham through Feeding America. We are able to provide nonperishable food items to families facing hardships through our RMP School Choice Pantry. Families can access our pantry with no paperwork requirements. If you have a need for food, at no cost to you, at any time during the school year, please contact Alisha Jones, our school social worker, at 252-443-9923 ext. 120 or by email.
Alisha Jones will set up an appointment with you so you can pick out food items from our pantry. This is a confidential service and food items can be picked up after school hours if needed.

McKinney-Vento Act
The McKinney-Vento Act provides certain rights for students experiencing homelessness. They include waiving certain requirements such as proof of residency when students are enrolling and allowing categorical eligibility for certain services, such as free textbooks.
