2021-2022 Virtual Learning

Rocky Mount Prep has prepared to offer a virtual learning option for families who desire it during the 2021-2022 school year. Seats are limited for this opportunity. This is offered in the form of an application process and is only available for the 2021-2022 school year. Scholars who are accepted will sign a virtual instruction contract and will begin virtual instruction on October 4.

Parent/guardian completes the application in its entirety by September 19
Applications are reviewed September 20-21
Decisions are communicated to families on September 22
Families sign the required virtual instruction contract by September 24

September 29 - MANDATORY Virtual Learning Family Orientation
September 30-October 1 - Virtual Learning Material & Device Distribution
October 4 - Virtual Learning Begins

MUST HAVE access to a device daily
MUST HAVE access to the internet daily
MUST ATTEND all live virtual instruction sessions
MUST COMPLETE all Google Classroom assignments daily
MUST CHECK school email daily
MUST HAVE a space to work and participate in virtual learning daily
MUST HAVE performed well in previous virtual learning opportunities
MUST COMPLETE any additional requirements in consultation with school counselors, teachers, and directors
MUST ATTEND in-person (if required) during designated benchmarks and testing dates
MUST PROVIDE transportation for scholars during any designated in-person testing days

Expectations for Families:

Virtual Learning Models:

Virtual instruction will be in two forms - (1) "hybrid" live-stream instruction - virtual scholars tune in to their in-person classes via live stream daily and receive instruction alongside in-person scholars (2) virtual class blocks - virtual scholars receive live instruction via Zoom separately from in-person scholars at a designated time. Each grade level will be assigned a form of virtual instruction that best fits their needs. Regardless of the form of virtual instruction, all virtual scholars will complete assignments via Google Classroom daily.

Grades K-3 - hybrid live-streamed instruction
Grades 4-5 - virtual class blocks
Grades 6-12 - hybrid live-streamed instruction
